"Rust": Will the film be continued in California?

Is the "Rust" team going for a new local start? As insiders report to the "Hollywood Reporter", the western is to move its production from New Mexico to California. When asked by the magazine, Melina Spadone, a spokesperson for the film, said, "Production of 'Rust' will not be returning to New Mexico. The production team is eyeing other locations, including California, but nothing has been decided yet." Filming is scheduled to resume in January 2023.

On October 21, 2021, an unbelievable tragedy struck during the filming of the film. Camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (1979-2021) was fatally injured by a shot that erupted from the gun held by actor Alec Baldwin (64). The 64-year-old always emphasized that he had not pulled the trigger of the weapon, it was said to have been an accident and a malfunction of the weapon. A few weeks ago, Baldwin, the other producers of "Rust" and the Hutchins family settled their dispute out of court. The "Beetlejuice" star announced this on Instagram.

According to several US media, the widower Matthew Hutchins also confirmed that an agreement could be reached. However, the agreement still has to be approved by the court. "All of us believe Halyna's death was a horrific accident," said Hutchins, who is now set to serve as the film's executive producer as part of the deal.
