Royals: Netflix documentary about Harry and Meghan: "It's going to be ugly"

Even before its official release, a multi-part Netflix documentary about Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan is keeping the United Kingdom in suspense.

"The two trailers we saw indicate that they will hardly hold back anything," constitutional and monarchy expert Craig Prescott from the Welsh University of Bangor told the German Press Agency. "The question remains what they hope to achieve with it."

Netflix plans to release the first part of the documentary with several episodes on December 8th, the sequel "Volume II" is to follow on December 15th.

Allusions to reckless treatment of Meghan

In the trailers released so far there are numerous allusions to a ruthless and sometimes racist treatment of Meghan during her time in the royal family. "It's a dirty game," says Harry (38) about the way the boulevard treats his wife to the camera - an accusation that is promptly found on several front pages of British newspapers on Tuesday. There is also a lot of talk about "war" and "lies" - often illustrated with a crying Meghan (41), which can be seen several times in the short Netflix clips.

The Times recommends the palace reschedule its renovations: "What they need is a bunker, 'cause boy is this getting ugly," writes author Hilary Rose in a venomous comment. Their conclusion: "What the trailer makes clear: They want to blow up the whole institution and everyone who belongs to it."
