Rose Ball in Monaco: Prince Albert appears without his wife Charlène

Prince Albert II of Monaco (65) apparently attended the Rose Ball without his wife Charlene (45). The 65-year-old can be seen in the pictures of the event accompanied by his sister Caroline von Hannover (66). Albert II wore a classic black two-piece suit with a bow tie for the charity event. Caroline chose a silver maxi dress with three-quarter sleeves and glittery sequins, which she paired with strappy sandals and an elegant updo.

The Rose Ball in Monte Carlo is a charity event hosted by Caroline of Hanover and Prince Albert II for the benefit of the Princesse Grace Foundation. The theme of this year's edition was Bollywood. The Rose Ball was first held in 1954.

It is not known why Princess Charlène was not part of the party. The former swimmer and Prince Albert II were married on July 1, 2011, and the church wedding followed the day after. Twins Gabriella and Jacques were born in December 2014. Hard times lie behind the princess. In the spring of 2021, Charlène fell ill during a trip to her home country of South Africa. According to media reports, she had a serious ear, nose and throat infection, which allegedly even required one or more operations.

The princess could not be transported and had to stay in South Africa for several months. When she returned to Monaco, she only stayed with her family for a short time. This was followed by a stay in a rehabilitation clinic in Switzerland. She did not return home until spring 2022 and has since then repeatedly taken part in public events. Speculations about her absence have always been denied. "My family is my rock," she told the Monaco Matin newspaper at the end of 2022.
