Rock singer Peter Maffay is now available as a Playmobil figure. He was presented with the small plastic toy figure on Tuesday at the world's largest toy fair in Nuremberg. The 73-year-old said he was not yet sure whether he would give this to his little daughter to play with.
"I have to think about that carefully." After all, he is proud of the small statue with leather jacket and guitar, which is based on him. According to the manufacturer, however, it is unique.
As a child, Maffay says he played with things he invented and built in his Romanian birthplace. His first playmates were the family's two dogs, he said. When he was a bit older, he was always out with the other "rascals" from his street. "We didn't have many toys because there was next to nothing in this country after the war," he said. "We invented things that we played with. But mostly we were always outside."
