Their Majesties the King and Queen began an intense week yesterday with the visit of the Emir of Qatar and Sheikha Jawaher, one of his three wives, who was traveling internationally for the first time. The day began with a welcome ceremony in the Royal Palace's Patio de Armas to culminate with the gala dinner, also held in the same enclave. A long-awaited occasion since it was the first after the pandemic, more than two years later, and in which she also dispensed with the masks.

As usual in this type of event, the styling chosen by Doña Letizia has been one of the key points of the evening, where she has dazzled as in the old days thanks to a design that could be described as the most elegant of her current dressing room .

Since his state visit to Stockholm last November he has not attended a gala dinner, and yesterday he made it clear again that he has not lost practice in setting the bar high.

In the case of the sheikha, she opted for a design in black tones by Chanel with a leather jacket -something warm for the high temperatures of the capital these days- and a Hermès bag while the Queen preferred to opt for a resource that never fault in her dressing room: glitter.

He did it with a model made from tulle with metallic threads that formed Arabic-inspired drawings, in champagne tones with pink sparkles, with platinum laminated print and crystal embroidery. The piece was adjusted to his figure, enhancing it, and was finished off with a bateau neckline, flared sleeves and an evasé skirt with a train at the back that gave it an even more sophisticated finish.

This garment is a creation of the Argentine designer Gabriel Lage, who has been dressing celebrities on both sides of the pond for more than three decades and who already entered the monarch's dressing room in 2017, during the visit of Argentine President Mauricio Macri and his wife Juliana Awada.

It should also be noted that protocol was skipped by dispensing with the tiara, which in this case has been as a sign of respect towards their guests, since the women of the Qatari royal family do not wear this type of accessory.

Instead, she opted to wear flower-shaped diamond earrings, a gift from the Qataris, and her inseparable Karen Hallam ring. She finished off her choice with a slightly loose low bun that made both the garment and the jewelry stand out to the fullest.
