Queen Camilla: She is reminiscent of the Queen with a brooch

Queen Camilla (76) attended the Ascot horse race in a good mood on Saturday afternoon in an emerald green coat dress and matching hat. She paired the ensemble with black knee-high boots with block heels. She also paid tribute to the late queen with a detail on her outfit.

On her left lapel, Camilla wore a brooch depicting a diamond-encrusted horse being ridden by a jockey. The piece of jewelry was given to the late Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) for her 90th birthday and, after her death, was passed on to her daughter-in-law, who was also a horse enthusiast. The unique piece was commissioned by the newspaper “Racing Post” from the Birmingham-based jeweler Alabaster

It's not the first time that Camilla has made a nod to the late Queen this week: On Wednesday evening, she showed up at a banquet with King Charles at the Mansion House in the City of London wearing Her Late Majesty's favorite tiara.

The stunning tiara was first presented to Princess Victoria Mary of Teck (1867-1953) on the occasion of her wedding to George V (1865-1936) in 1893. The Queen wore the Queen Mary's Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara in one of her first public appearances after the funeral of her father George VI. (1895-1952) shortly after her accession to the throne.
