Breathe a sigh of relief for Goldi: actor Armin Rohde (67) was revealed in the ProSieben show "The Masked Singer" as a fluffy but bad-tempered Goldi and was therefore eliminated shortly before the finale of the show. The audience on Saturday evening fulfilled the wish of the cute and cuddly Goldi, who had instructed the audience before his last appearance: "Don't vote for me, do you hear?"
Rohde played the "Masked Singer" candidate against his will sensationally, said moderator Matthias Opdenhövel. That hasn't happened in seven seasons, says Opdenhövel, "that a mask comes out and says: "I don't want it anymore, I don't feel like it" – on show one. And you noticed: people loved it." The "night shift" television commissioner Rohde himself probably liked taking part in the show better than his fluffy fictional character. "It was one of the most exciting experiences I've had in my entire career," he said.
Glittering plush robe
The viewers correctly guessed that Rohde was hiding under Goldi's glittering plush robe. The rate team, on the other hand, groped in the dark until the end. Only pop singer Johannes Oerding suspected Rohde to be behind the big googly eyes because he thought he recognized "great acting" and "a lot of creativity" in Goldi's performances. Rea Garvey, on the other hand, guessed pop singer Ikke Hipgold because of the overlap in the name. Ruth Moschner threw the name of moderator Jürgen von der Lippe into the ring.
Musician Rea Garvey himself, who had previously been traded by viewers and rate queen Ruth Moschner as a possible prominent singer under the mask of the shaggy werewolf, also caused a certain tension. The Irish singer returned to the show on Saturday as a guest guest. But then, of all things, he wasn't in his seat for the werewolf's appearance - highly suspicious, as Moschner thought.
Wolf in a long coat of fur
At the end of the werewolf's song interlude, a second wolf in a long fur coat and Garvey's colorful sweatpants mingled with the dancers, who then - what a surprise - revealed himself as Garvey. "Obviously I'm not the werewolf," the Irishman stated. "I'm honored you thought it was me." Who is in the actual wolf costume remains a secret.
The winners of the first and fifth seasons, the astronaut aka Max Mutzke and the garbage monster Mülli Müller aka Alexander Klaws, also returned to the ProSieben studio for a joint appearance on Saturday evening. In "The Masked Singer" celebrities appear as singers, but hide their identities behind masks and elaborate costumes. Only her voice and a few hints give an idea of who could be on stage. The stars will be revealed as soon as they don't get enough votes or end up winning.
The show is currently in its seventh season. Before Rohde, Katja Burkard, Jutta Speidel, Thomas Hayo and Felix von Jascheroff had already had to take off their masks in the last few weeks. The finale of the costume spectacle will take place next Saturday. Also present: the mole, the werewolf, the tooth fairy and the robot Rosty.
