Princess Kate: This is how much she spent on clothes in 2022

She will probably later stand by her husband Prince William (40) as Queen Consort. But Kate (40), the Princess of Wales, already represents the British monarchy as one of the highest-ranking members of the royal family. The wardrobe of the wife of the heir to the throne is correspondingly glamorous. From casual outings to state banquets, Kate has always looked stylish. She often wears a mix of new and familiar outfits.

Some of the ensembles worn by Princess Kate this year come at a hefty price tag. Even if it is not clear whether she really has to pay it in full. An analysis by the Daily Mail newspaper has revealed that Kate is said to have worn new clothes worth £176,664 (about 200,000 euros) over the course of 2022. According to the newspaper, she would have surpassed the previous record of 119,000 pounds (about 135,000 euros) from 2017.

One of her most expensive pieces this year, according to media reports, was her white gold and diamond Robinson Pelham earrings, which are currently available online for around £10,500 (€11,900). According to the Daily Mail, the Princess of Wales presented her most expensive dress when she attended the premiere of the film "Top Gun: Maverick". She wore an elegant black dress by Roland Mouret worth 2,000 pounds (about 2,300 euros) when she met Hollywood star Tom Cruise (60).

But Kate also proved that there is another way. To conclude their three-day visit to the United States, the Prince and Princess of Wales attended the second annual Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony at Boston's MGM Music Hall in early December.

In keeping with the eco-friendly theme of the event, which honors environmental heroes, guests were asked not to buy new dresses or suits for the evening. Adhering to sustainable fashion guidelines, Kate wore a bright green off-the-shoulder dress by Solace London, which she rented from Hurr, a designer clothing rental platform in the UK.
