Prince William: No trip to the World Cup in Qatar?

Prince William (40) will apparently not travel to Qatar for the World Cup. As the British "Sun" claims to have learned from the prince's immediate environment, the busy royal will not be able to support the English national team on site due to his busy schedule. William is a big football fan himself and has been President of the FA since 2006.

An official statement is still pending. However, should William actually not travel to Qatar, this could also be related to the constant criticism of the host country. Since the World Cup was awarded, the emirate and the world football association Fifa have been in the headlines: Among other things, it is about the lack of rights for homosexuals and women, the poor working conditions on the construction sites of the World Cup venues and the exploitation of migrants.

The World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 20th to December 18th. England start the competition on Monday 21st November by playing the Iranian football team.
