Tangible surprise at Florian Silbereisen's (41) "Schlagerbooom Open Air – The Stadium Show in Austria" on Saturday evening (July 1): The hit boy band Team 5ünf lives up to its name again: After the separation from Marc Terenzi (45) presented the group has its well-known replacement on the Saturday evening show - "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" winner Prince Damien (32) will be alongside Jay Khan (41), Daniel Johnson (30), Joel de Tombe (42) and Dennis "DNice " Somuah perform.
Damien was apparently at the top of band co-founder Khan's list right from the start, as he revealed to the "Bild" newspaper: "Prince was already my preferred candidate when developing Team 5ünf. I saw him as the main actor in the Take That Musical 'The Band' at the Theater des Westens in Berlin and thought it was great." In addition, the 32-year-old is "the personification of the team player and stands for tolerance and diversity. Alcohol, drugs, violence and excessive party orgies have no place in his life."
In 2021, the plan to bring the "DSDS" and jungle camp winner into the boy band boat failed. After Terenzi's exit from the group, however, it worked on the second attempt. He owes the idea of trying Prince Damien again to his girlfriend Jessie and the city of Paris. On a joint trip to France, she mentioned his name as a potential replacement for Terenzi - "I called him from vacation and three days later he was in the band. The city of love brought luck to the band!"
Khan also speaks to "Bild" about the supposed reasons for the decision to throw co-founder Terenzi out of the band: "After Marc repeatedly left us hanging at a sold-out show, the chapter Team 5ünf felt like it was over for me. It looked like that as if everything would burst."
Prince Damien himself also has his say in an interview with the newspaper and feels like a kind of reorientation of the band: "I don't see myself as a successor, but bring a whole new color to the group. Team 5ünf is now more colorful than ever!"
