Prince Albert II: Royal is Corona positive again

Prince Albert II (64) should have attended a gala at the 45th Monaco Circus Festival on Tuesday (January 24), but had to cancel at short notice. The Royal also missed the celebrations in honor of Saint Devote. According to the “Monaco Matin”, the reason for this is a Covid 19 disease.

Citing the Monaco princely palace, the newspaper writes: "He is asymptomatic and his state of health is not at all worrying. He works remotely and is in constant contact with members of his cabinet, his government and his closest associates." The period of isolation will be adapted to the applicable health regulations, it said.

It is not known whether Princess Charlène, who celebrates her 45th birthday on January 25, or the eight-year-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella are also ill.

It is not the first time that Prince Albert II has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. As early as March 2020, the Royal was hit. He described the infection to "People" magazine a few months later as "a very mild case", but had to struggle with "moments of pronounced fatigue" long after his diagnosis. In April 2022, the prince fell ill again, but showed no symptoms and continued to carry out his duties in isolation.
