London, New Year's Eve 1953. 20-year-old Toni (Mercedes Müller) takes care of the children of a wealthy London family, in whose town house she spends the turn of the year. Here she comes into contact with Lucie John (Inga Busch) and her husband Otto (Sebastian Blomberg), the President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV). The former resistance fighter in Graf Stauffenberg's inner circle is impressed by Toni's thoughtful manner. As head of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Otto John pursues war criminals in hiding and fights against a renewed rise in strength of former Nazis in Germany.

When inspectors Brand (Mariele Millowitsch) and Simmel (Hinnerk Schönemann) question Arndt Krieger about what happened on the night of the crime, they quickly become suspicious because he avoids them.

92-year-old Holocaust survivor David Joshua Goldberg was outright executed in his home. The killer wrote the number "16145" on the hallway mirror in his victim's blood. During the autopsy, coroner Henning Kirchhoff (Kai Scheve) makes a discovery: On the upper arm they find the remains of a tattoo, as was common in the Waffen SS. Two more murders are committed. Why does someone kill old people? And what does the number mean?

Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) is a son by profession and spends his life with wild parties. But then his father dies and leaves him his media empire. Britt befriends mechanic Kato (Jay Chou) and soon discovers that Kato is an excellent martial artist. Together they come up with a plan: as the Green Hornet, Britt wants to go on a criminal hunt with Kato. Soon they are opposed by underworld boss Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz), who wants to permanently eliminate the "green hornet".
