The severely traumatized professional soldier Karen Holt (Franziska Hartmann) reluctantly interrupts her foreign assignment in Mali after her sister Alexandra has disappeared without a trace. After 20 years, she returns to her parents' home to take care of her two nieces. She finds her old home completely gentrified. But Alexandra's disappearance casts a shadow over the supposed idyll and under the roofs of the neighbors and new friends things are simmering.
