After a global catastrophe, the earth is devastated. People live in gigantic metropolises on wheels and roam the earth in search of food and valuable resources. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan) lives in the traveling fortress of London, where he meets the mysterious Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar), whose city has been invaded and destroyed. Now Hester wants revenge on Thaddeus Valentine (Hugo Weaving), who runs London, and asks Tom for help.

Police superintendent Holm Brendel (Rainer Sellien) follows in the footsteps of the prominent Swedish crime writer Arvid Johanssons in Ystad. Ex-prosecutor Karin Lossow (Katrin Sass) accompanies Holm on the private trip. On the ferry back to Usedom, she meets Dana Driest (Karolina Gorczyca), who was born in Poland. She has a noticeable hematoma on her cheek. Has she been a victim of domestic violence? The next day, Karin sees Dana's husband Jochen (Steven Scharf) drive off the ferry at the wheel of his SUV - there is no trace of his wife.

By chance, Marie (Christine Eixenberger) meets a woman from Wildegg (Dagny Dewath) who was believed to have disappeared and her new husband. The woman can no longer remember her old life and her family. Marie can't believe it when her old friend stands in front of her - all the more so when Sabrina doesn't recognize her. As it turns out, she lost her memory two years earlier and no one knows why. Since then she has lived as Mickey with her boyfriend Jonas (Simon Böer).

Small-time dealer David Clark (Jason Sudeikis) is hired to smuggle a shipment of marijuana from Mexico to the United States to pay off a debt to his boss. A family would be the perfect cover for that! So he searches his neighborhood - and finds a make-believe family in the stripper Rose (Jennifer Aniston), the teenage loser Kenny (Will Poulter) and the runaway Casey (Emma Roberts), who take him on the chaotic path to south power.

An elite Special Forces unit is sent on a search operation into the Bolivian jungle. But soon the team - Clay (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Jensen (Chris Evans), Roque (Idris Elba), Pooch (Columbus Short) and Cougar (Óscar Jaenada) - find themselves the target of a deadly double-cross instigated by a powerful enemy within the unit itself, known only by the name of Max (Jason Patric). Making good use of the fact that she's now presumed dead, the group goes deep underground to clear her name and get even with Max.
