The criminal psychologist Annett Schuster (Kristin Suckow) and the case analyst Jan Kawig (Bernhard Conrad) have to solve their first case together when a male body is found near the Wartburg. Huddled in a fridge like the victim is praying. The man was known as the "merciless judge" at the Erfurt Higher Regional Court - revenge is therefore an obvious motive. Annett Schuster finds religious symbols that refer to the Bible quote "An eye for an eye".
Strike a pose! The first big photo shoot of the season is coming up for the young models. Based on the mad hatter from "Alice in Wonderland", the models wear extravagant hat creations and have to convince photographer Brian Bowen Smith with a strong facial expression. At the decision walk, Union Station in downtown Los Angeles is transformed into a catwalk and the candidates present the looks of fashion designer Yannik Zamboni.
The "Thorvaldson" is heading for the Arctic, where a particularly large number of Yrr signals have been located. Because Anawak (Joshua Odjick) and Crowe (Sharon Duncan-Brewster) believe in a way to communicate with the Yrr right there. To test the equipment, diving robotics expert Luther Roscovitz (Klaas Heufer-Umlauf) and Charlie (Leonie Benesch) undertake a submarine test drive into the depths. Business lawyer Robert Bilott (Mark Ruffalo) is visited by one of his grandmother's neighbors from West Virginia. The angry farmer asks him to sue the chemical multinational DuPont. His cows, according to the accusation, are being poisoned by a nearby landfill. Such a mandate is actually out of the question for Bilott. When he drives to remote Parkersburg to see for himself, his mind changes abruptly. The lawyer sees shocking evidence of the poisoning of the cattle with his own eyes: black teeth, huge tumors and terrible deformities. With the backing of his law firm boss, he files a lawsuit.
