In Bremerhaven, one of the largest automobile transhipment ports in Europe, a body is found at one of the car terminals - the head of the driver department lies dead in the trunk of a car. The Bremen investigative team Liv Moormann (Jasna Fritzi Bauer) and Linda Selb (Luise Wolfram) take up the investigation and are supported by their Bremerhaven colleague Robert Petersen (Patrick Güldenberg). They meet Marie (Luisa Böse), Gheorghe Rusu (Adrian But) and Oleg Rusu (Jonas Halbfas). The three car tuners secretly swipe cars for nightly races, compete at the "donuts" spin when the car skids in circles with smoking tires. One of the vehicles turns out to be particularly explosive.

Warrior daughter Hua Mulan (Liu Yifei) disguises herself as a man to serve in the army for her ailing father when the Rouran invade her realm. As "Hua Jun" she gets a lot of attention during the war. The late Georg Steiner (Cornelius Obonya) was friends with the father of police archivist Lisa Linder (Miriam Hie). Before Steiner's death, she had asked Max to treat him. Apparently he thought he was cursed. Oskar and Max discover a dark secret from Steiner's time in Beijing.
