The British rock band Blur ("Song 2", "Beetlebum") returns to the big stage next summer after several years. On July 8, 2023, the Britpop icons will play at London's famous Wembley Stadium. Blur announced this on Monday. It is the first time since 2015 that singer and songwriter Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree will play a concert together.

"We really enjoy playing these songs and thought it was time to do it again," Blur frontman Albarn, 54, told the PA news agency. His bandmate Alex James (53) added: "It's always something special when the four of us are in a room together. It's a nice thought that this room will be Wembley Stadium on July 8th." Advance ticket sales for the concert in London begin on Friday. Further appearances were initially not planned.
