Pauley Perrette: This is how the TV star is doing after the stroke

Former "Navy CIS" actress Pauley Perrette (53) gave her fans an update on her health a year after her stroke. The 53-year-old - who played popular character Abby Sciuto on the TV series for around 15 years before quitting in 2018 - explained on Twitter that she was a "survivor."

In a video she posted on the short message service, she also wrote that it was the anniversary of her stroke: "And I'm still here." She added, "Yes, I'm still here, again. How many times do I cheat death? I almost died from a hair dye allergy. I have food allergies, I've survived domestic violence and rape." The actress continued, "I was attacked by a crazy homeless person and almost died, and I'm still here. I'm really thankful, especially for all my rescue dogs that are over there."

Perrette added, "A year ago I had a massive stroke. Before that I lost so many loved ones family and friends, and daddy and then cousin Wayne." Nevertheless, she was "still so grateful, still so full of faith".

After leaving "Navy CIS", the actress got a leading role in "Broke" in 2019 alongside Jaime Camil (49) and Natasha Leggero (48). The series ran for a 13-episode season in 2020.
