Pain and numbness: Is Britney Spears suffering from nerve damage?

On her official Instagram account, US pop star Britney Spears (40) repeatedly publishes videos in which she dances energetically in front of the camera. In the most recent of these clips, she reveals in a long text why dancing is so important to her: Accordingly, she suffers from "a nerve damage on the right side of my body. There is no cure for this but God," writes Spears. But dancing would bring her relief.

She would suffer from numbness in the affected parts of her body: "I wake up in bed at least three times a week and my hands are completely numb." Then it feels like needles are "shooting from the right side of my body all the way up to my neck". She would feel the greatest pain in her temples - "it stings and it's scary".

When the pain is at its greatest, she begins to dance, because "when I dance, I don't feel pain anymore. It's like my mind literally goes to my inner child's place, even though I don't move like that anymore as I once could, I am convinced that believing in it gives me strength."

In the comment section on Spears' post, many users express their concern about the star's health. However, not only in view of the pain the singer described, but also with regard to the post itself. The somewhat confused text leaves many of her fans amazed. Just like the dance video, which numerous comments suggest is an old clip. Voices are increasing asking that Spears release a live video to let her fans know she's okay.

In 2021, a court revoked her father Jamie Spears' (70) guardianship. He was appointed as Britney Spears' mentor in 2008 after her collapse.
