On the advice of his doctor: "Party Your Hasselhoff": David Hasselhoff cancels the tour at short notice

Disappointment for fans of David Hasselhoff: "The Hoff" cancels his tour of Germany, Austria and Switzerland planned for this month and April.

The reason is a "serious eye infection," said the 70-year-old musician ("Looking For Freedom"), according to a statement by the organizer River Concerts on Wednesday. She makes it impossible for him to "put on such a show that you all deserve". The cancellation of the tour was "with a heavy heart" and on the advice of his doctor.

The first concert of the "Party Your Hasselhoff" tour was scheduled for March 18 in Hanover. Further stations would have been Berlin, Schladming, Vienna, Graz, Regensburg, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Munich and Zurich. "David Hasselhoff is bringing the big party back to Germany: a live program with his cult hits and new party songs!" the announcement said. Hasselhoff himself promised: "There should be dancing, singing and celebrating - something that has become more important than ever - we had put on a beautiful show that would have thrilled everyone". Tickets for the planned guest performances were still available until the very end.

Anyone who already has a ticket for one of the performances should contact the respective ticket office for a refund of the purchase price. Despite the cancellation, Hasselhoff insisted: "I'll be back …" When is still unclear.

The musician and actor most recently appeared in public earlier this month at his daughter Taylor Ann's wedding in California.

Hasselhoff became world famous in the 1980s and 1990s with his roles as Michael Knight in the series "Knight Rider" and Mitch Buchannon in the series "Baywatch" and began a career as a singer. He made his breakthrough with the track "Looking For Freedom", followed by other hits like "Crazy For You" and "Do The Limbo Dance" in the early 1990s. In September he released his 15th album "Party Your Hasselhoff", which mainly consists of cover versions of well-known hits by other artists (stream music here on RTL).
