Olivia Newton-John: Her state funeral will be so touching

British-Australian singer and actress Olivia Newton-John (1948-2022) died in early August aged just 73. She lost a decades-long battle with cancer. It has long been clear that the "Grease" star will receive a state funeral in her home country of Australia. As the "Daily Mail" now reports, journalist Peter Ford, a close family friend, revealed details of the forthcoming funeral. Speaking on Australian Morning TV, Ford revealed the state funeral will be held in Melbourne in early December, at a location Newton-John had a special connection with.

The state funeral will be held at the Royal Botanic Gardens, according to journalist Ford. The extensive park was one of the favorite places of the late "Grease" star. She lived not far away for many years and often visited the Royal Botanic Gardens with her mother.

According to family friend Ford, the plan is for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to play at the memorial service, while fans of the late star can gather to pay their respects. The state funeral should be "quiet, elegant and relaxed".
