Olivia Newton-John: Her daughter opens up about her last words

Six months after the death of "Grease" actress Olivia Newton-John (1948-2022), her daughter Chloe Lattanzi (37) and widower John Easterling (73) gave a moving TV interview. In conversation with "Today" presenter Hoda Kotb (58), the two spoke about the last moments with the famous singer, who died on August 8, 2022 as a result of her breast cancer.

"The last words she said to me were 'My sunshine,'" recalled Chloe Lattanzi. "Just before she lost her ability to speak, she was joking." While the Grease actress was iconic to many people around the world, she was a mother to Lattanzi: "She wasn't Olivia Newton-John to me. But I'm so glad she was Olivia Newton-John to so many others was." She loved her "mom" more than anything else, she said with tears.

John Easterling, to whom Olivia Newton-John has been married since 2008, spoke on "Today" about her strength, which she always radiated despite the difficult time. She was his "soul mate".

An official state memorial service for the late British-Australian singer and actress will be held at Hamer Hall at the Arts Center in Melbourne on February 26 for fans to say their goodbyes. The event was organized in conjunction with Newton-John's family, who accepted an offer from the government.
