"Naatu Naatu": "Germans can't dance?": German Embassy in India congratulates Oscar winners with a dance video

The German Embassy in New Delhi congratulated India on the Oscar for the best film song in a special way: with a self-produced dance video in the streets of the Indian capital. In the video published by Ambassador Philipp Ackermann on Twitter on Saturday, embassy employees imitate the energetic dance number "Naatu Naatu" from the Indian film "RRR" in a flash mob.

Some of the employees, some of whom are Indian, appear in dirndls, two dancers try their hand at lederhosen; Ambassador Ackermann prefers to dance in a blue tunic and comfortable white trousers. The vibe is great, the steps aren't always. "Anything but perfect. But fun," Ackermann himself commented on the insert. At the end, a baton with the inscription "Naatu Naatu" rises in the sky - and Ackermann calls on all other embassies to take part in the "challenge".

Diversity was a big thing at this year's Oscars. In addition to the successful German film "Nothing New in the West", the Indians also caused a surprise. The high-energy dance number "Naatu Naatu" from the Indian film "RRR" won the Oscar for best song, beating out superstars Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
