MTV Europe Music Awards: Harry Styles and Taylor Swift the favourites

For the first time in ten years, the MTV Europe Music Awards will be held in Germany again. This Sunday (November 13) the coveted trophies will be awarded in the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf. Superstar Harry Styles (28) received the most nominations with seven, and is therefore the favorite in the race. Hot on Style's heels is singer Taylor Swift, 32, with six nominations. Both are nominated for "Best Artist".

Singer Rita Ora (31) and her husband, the Marvel director and Oscar winner Taika Waititi (47), lead through the evening as moderator duo. After Styles and Swift come Nicki Minaj (39) and Rosalía (30) with five nominations each. The award for the "Best German Act" was already presented on Friday evening. Here last year's winner Badmómzjay (20) prevailed again against her competitors.

As usual, some well-known artists have announced an appearance at this year's EMAs. David Guetta (55) and Bebe Rexha (33) will perform their hit "I'm Good (Blue)". The audience can also experience Muse and OneRepublic on stage. A performance by Gorillaz, who was also nominated, was recorded the evening before in the Tonhalle Düsseldorf. And 80s icon David Hasselhoff (70) will also take the stage in Düsseldorf, as MTV previously announced.

The MTV Europe Music Awards 2022 can be followed live in Germany on MTV and Comedy Central. According to MTV, the awards show will be broadcast in 180 countries.
