Mick Jagger: Special surprise for the cricket fan

For decades, the Rolling Stones were notorious for their wild after-show parties after concerts. For his 80th birthday, frontman Mick Jagger did not miss the opportunity to celebrate extensively. According to the Daily Mail, Jagger partied late into the night with family and friends at London nightclub Embargo Republica on Wednesday (July 26). Photos show him leaving the Chelsea nightclub in the early hours of the morning.

In addition to daughter Georgia May Jagger (31), girlfriend Melanie Hamrick (36) and ex-girlfriend Jerry Hall (67), bandmate Ronnie Wood (76) and Hollywood stars like Leonardo DiCaprio (48) and Lenny Kravitz (59) are said to have been there.

The gifts were also quite extravagant: As the British newspaper "The Sun" found out from an insider, Mick Jagger was able to look forward to lifelong access to the VIP balcony of London's cricket stadium The Oval. "His family has been trying to get him this for years, but the demand is huge and the waiting list is long," the insider said.

According to "The Sun", such a VIP box costs around 6,000 pounds (almost 7,000 euros) per day. Includes a private balcony overlooking the pitch, drinks, lunch and dinner. The stadium's website also promises "visits from cricket legends".

Jagger was "overwhelmed" when he found out about the gift. The Stones frontman has been a lifelong cricket fan: According to the newspaper, he first attended a match at The Oval, home of Surrey County Cricket Club, when he was eight years old. Jagger was last at the stadium in June for the Australia-India game.
