Another year with many innovations but also comebacks in terms of fashion trends is coming to an end. Time to take stock. Which it-pieces were a highlight this year? Which pieces can we safely do without in the future? And how did the stars do on the red carpet this year? Star designer Michael Michalsky (55) looks back on the year 2022 in an interview with the news agency spot on news.

Michael Michalsky: My favorite trend this year has been the return of the tank top for women. I like this break in style, because a tank top is actually a men's undershirt. But that can look incredibly sexy on women.

Michalsky: Cropped tops for men took some getting used to. Not everyone can wear that (laughs). I also found it strange that the styles of the 80s were already popping up again. For the umpteenth time.

Michalsky: I liked Kim Kardashian. Her style has developed very favorably in recent years. When I think about how she walked around at the beginning of her career - a world of difference.

Michalsky: I can hardly name a single one, there were many. I've often wondered about Madonna. I think it used to have better grip.

Michalsky: Stay in bed or in the bath for Christmas. This festival is way overrated. New Year's Eve can be a nice party if you spend it with close friends. Then please style well! But if you're going to an official party, have fun. There is a good chance that the evening will be like last New Year's Eve - boring (laughs).

Michalsky: Look forward to cowboy boots and more leather looks. This will be a nice change from sneakers and sportswear.

Michalsky: I look forward to new ideas. We already had old trends, nobody needs them again and again. Yesterday doesn't matter, that's over.
