Shortly before the broadcast of a personality documentary, the influencer Cathy Hummels clearly confirmed her separation from soccer player Mats Hummels. "I've been thinking for a long time about when and if I should say something publicly about the breakup. Now it feels right and the time has come," she said when asked by dpa about the "Cathy Hummels – Everything at the beginning" project. The documentary can be seen on November 16 at 8:15 p.m. on RTLzwei.

The presenter and bestselling author Cathy Hummels from Munich was accompanied by a camera team for several months for the film. RTLzwei praises the project as follows: "For a long time, the moderator of "Kampf der Realitystars" Cathy Hummels let the rumor mill simmer. Now she breaks her silence: "The separation from husband Mats Hummels, the balancing act between the world of work and the role of mother and how to deal with her depression ."

There were first reports of the couple's separation many months ago. However, both celebrities had kept a low profile for a long time. In an interview with the magazine "Bunte" in July, Cathy Hummels then hinted: "I loved my husband very much and always wanted to take care of everything perfectly, but that didn't go on like this." She hadn't mentioned the word separation, however.

The 34-year-old also revealed to the "Bild" newspaper what she did with her wedding ring: she disassembled it and had new pieces of jewelry made from it, a few earrings and two necklaces were created. "Love turned into friendship. I always want to remember the time we shared with Mats fondly, so I just made something 'new' out of 'old'. A fresh start. I designed and reinterpreted the jewelry myself," said Hummels.
