For the vast majority of small and large master builders, Lego stands above all for the building experience and fun. Some adults, the so-called AFOLs (Adult Fans of Lego), set up and display display models in their homes that are rather unsuitable for playing. Still others indulge their passion for collecting with a hobby room full of Lego. But more and more fans of the small clamping blocks don't even unpack the brightly printed cardboard boxes. Unopened and sealed special sets will stack. The Lego End of Life sets are particularly popular. These are the sets that the Danish Lego capital Billund has announced will be phased out and will no longer be reproduced in the foreseeable future. Lego as an investment? The fact is that some Lego End of Life sets are difficult to obtain after the production stop. And if so, lovers and those who decide late in the game have to pay a few euros more to add a favorite piece to their collection.
In their Lego Technic segment, the Danes are making some space for new sets. After all, a handful of sets will soon disappear from the range. The Danes plan to stop producing the second model from the super sports car series, the Bugatti Chiron, soon. The bullet in blue is currently available with discounts of more than 20 percent. In addition, Lego marked some smaller sets such as the Ford F-150 Raptor, which was only presented in 2021, or the popular 2-in-1 skid steer loader with the "Discontinuation soon" label.

Sets from this series (formerly Creator Expert, now Icons) are among the most popular collectibles in the Lego community, along with Ideas sets. Three sets were new to the list this year, which will still be on sale in 2021 in the "Creator Expert" series. The most coveted of these is likely to be the iconic Volkswagen T2 camper van. At least 15 percent below the Lego list price (159.99 euros), this set is currently (still) in different hands. For collectors of special minifigures, the Queer Eye Set could be of interest before it goes out of production. One of the most popular space travel sets in recent years could make a decent jump in price. The Apollo Saturn V was released in 2017 as part of the Ideas series and found many fans. Now Lego missed the legendary rocket the label "discontinued soon". Compared to the RRP, you currently only save a few euros. After the production stop, the price is likely to develop in the other direction. The apparently only moderately successful TV sets of Friends and Seinfeld are also discontinued, as well as the ISS, which quits service a few years earlier than its original orbiting model.
