King Charles III (74) is expected in Germany for the first time in his new role as British monarch on Wednesday, March 29. On the second day of his state visit, the son of the late Queen Elizabeth (1926-2022) will also give a speech in the German Bundestag in Berlin. As reported by ZDF, this appearance will be broadcast live on "ZDF special: King Charles III in Germany - Speech in the Bundestag". The show will air Thursday, March 30 from 10:30am to 12:35pm.

Before his speech, Charles and his wife, king's wife Camilla (75), are welcomed in the Bundestag by Chancellor Olaf Scholz (64, SPD) and the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Franziska Giffey (44, SPD). Christina von Ungern-Sternberg (44) will moderate the "ZDF special" live from the Reichstag building. The visit, even before the actual coronation on May 6, 2023, is seen by nobility experts as an expression of the special friendly relations between the United Kingdom and Germany.

Charles has been to Germany many times as heir to the throne and Prince of Wales as representative of the British Crown.
