King Charles III: Have three top acts canceled for the coronation?

In just over two months, on May 6th to be precise, King Charles III. (74) crowned. A star-studded concert will be held at Windsor Castle the following day to celebrate this extremely rare ceremony in Great Britain. Acts already confirmed include Olly Murs (38), Lionel Richie (73), Take That (but without Robbie Williams, 49) and the Minogue sisters Kylie (54) and Dannii (51). Even more well-known musicians are to be announced in the near future - but this does not seem to be that easy, as "The Sun" now reports.

According to the report, three giant names in the music business have canceled: Sir Elton John (75), Harry Styles (29) and the Spice Girls. The reason for the cancellations in all three cases is therefore the overly full schedule. The situation was similar before with stars like Adele (34) and Ed Sheeran (32) as well as said Robbie Williams.

Elton John even "was number one on Charles' list," the site claims to have learned from a source. Ironically, his gigs in Germany are said to have thwarted the king's plans: "Because of his European tour, which takes him to Germany again on Friday before the coronation and shortly after the Windsor concert, he cannot make the trip to Great Britain ." John's "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour 2023" will stop in Hamburg on May 5th and will perform in Berlin on May 11th.

Same with the man of the hour, Harry Styles. He will be a lot further away than Elton John in the course of his "Love on Tour" - Styles plays in Australia on May 4th and in New Zealand on May 7th - literally on the other side of the world.

The coronation ceremony will take place on May 6th in London's Westminster Abbey. 2,000 guests should be invited. On the day there will also be a carriage procession and the traditional appearance of the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. The music concert and light show are scheduled at Windsor Castle on Sunday 7th May. On May 8th, the British will have an additional public holiday with events in honor of people who do voluntary work.
