King Charles III (74) and King's wife Camilla (75) are expected for a three-day state visit to Germany. German television will therefore broadcast special programs on the visit of the British monarch and his wife in the coming week.

Previously announced for next Wednesday, from 2:05 p.m., is the program "Royal State Visit: King Charles in Berlin" on the first. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier (67) and his wife Elke Büdenbender (61) are first greeted by Charles III. and Camilla with military honors at the Brandenburg Gate. After an encounter with citizens, the journey continues to a reception at Bellevue Palace. The broadcaster would like to show impressions of it. The program is moderated by Tina Hassel (58). She will classify the visit with Annette Dittert (60), head of the ARD studio in London, and the royal expert Leontine von Schmettow. A new edition of "Brisant" will follow from 4:30 p.m.

RTL also shows a one-hour special. From 3:00 p.m. on March 29, the station will broadcast the "Point 12 Special - King Charles in Germany". Katja Burkard (57) moderates the special broadcast on the occasion of the state visit in the run-up to Charles' coronation on May 6th.

On the evening of March 29, Steinmeier and Büdenbender will invite guests to a banquet in honor of state guests, at which the heads of state will give speeches. On March 30th King Charles III. give another speech in the German Bundestag. The Federal President and the King will then meet refugees from the Ukraine and soldiers from the German-British Engineer Bridge Battalion in Finowfurt before continuing to the eco-village of Brodowin. Meanwhile, Büdenbender and Camilla visit the Komische Oper.

On the third day of their trip to Germany, the king and his wife travel to Hamburg together with Steinmeier and Büdenbender. There they will visit the memorial "Kindertransport - The Last Farewell" followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the St. Nikolai memorial. Later, the royals signed Hamburg's golden book. You will meet citizens again in front of the town hall. For the king and the federal president it goes on to a boat trip, for Büdenbender and Camilla to an elementary school. A reception at the British Embassy finally marks the end of the state visit.
