Kevin Spacey: Controversial Star Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Controversial US actor Kevin Spacey (63) will receive a lifetime achievement award in Italy, according to US industry magazine Variety. Spacey will make his first public appearance in five years at the National Cinema Museum in Turin on January 16, 2023. He is supposed to give a master class there and receive the award. Since allegations of sexual misconduct were made against the two-time Oscar winner in 2017, he had largely stayed away from the public - apart from appearances in the courtroom.

Just a few weeks ago, Spacey was found not guilty in a harassment trial in New York. His fellow actor Anthony Rapp (51) had accused him of sexually molesting him in 1986 when Rapp was just 14 years old. In Great Britain, however, Spacey will still have to answer in court. Three men accuse him of sexual assaults that are said to have happened between 2005 and 2013. Spacey denies the allegations.

The former series star has to pay around 31 million dollars to the production company of the series "House of Cards" for breach of contract, as a court in Los Angeles ruled in November last year. Spacey violated MRC's sexual harassment policy during the production of the Netflix series.

Enzo Ghigo (69), President of the Turin Museum of Cinema, said in a statement: "We are honored that such a distinguished guest as Kevin Spacey has chosen the city of Turin [...] for his welcome and long-awaited return".
