Kendall Jenner: Model feels much more confident today

She belongs to one of the most famous family clans in the world: Kendall Jenner (27). She is the second youngest in the family around sister Kim Kardashian (42) and head of the family Kris Jenner (67). The Los Angeles-born American is by no means resting on her laurels. TV star, author, entrepreneur and model are on the profile of the beautiful celebrity. L'Oréal Paris has just appointed her as its new international ambassador. Kendall has worked hard for her successful status - including the well-known downsides as a public figure.

Kendall Jenner has been in the spotlight since she was 11. As a member of the famous Kardashian-Jenner family, she probably had little choice when the reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians was launched in 2007. Like her younger sister Kylie (25), Kendall comes from the previous marriage of Kris and Bruce Jenner (73, now Caitlyn Jenner), which was divorced in 2015.

The reality show of the big patchwork family hit like a bomb at the time, the Kardashian-Jenner sisters were first in the USA and quickly on everyone's lips worldwide. Looking back in June 2023, Kendall Jenner told the Wall Street Journal that she never chose a life of fame but was born into it: "I'm not cut out for it at all. I'm not good at it. I do it and I've learned , How to do it."

So it's no wonder that the ambitious Kendall Jenner, after graduating from high school in 2014, was aiming for an independent career as a model. She laid the foundation stone at the age of 14 when she got a contract with the agency Wilhelmina Models. Campaigns with Forever 21 and runway jobs at New York Fashion Week followed. Gradually, the big labels became aware of them. Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Dolce

Like her sisters, Jenner is also a star on social media. She now has almost 300 million followers on Instagram alone. She also co-authored a book with her sister Kylie Jenner in 2014 and 2016. About two years ago, Kendall Jenner launched her own brand of tequila - all side jobs, with which she has been building her own empire for years.

But, as is often the case, fame and success brought dark times to her, too. Among other things, she spoke to the German "Vogue" in May 2021 about her mental problems. She has suffered from anxiety and panic attacks since she was young. It took a while for her to realize that. Speaking about it also took a lot of courage, but "one of the most important things is to destigmatize all mental health issues, especially anxiety, because a lot of people think they're on their own."

Today, the 27-year-old can claim to have matured into a successful and self-confident woman. Alongside well-known figures such as Gigi Hadid (28) and Karlie Kloss (30), she is one of the best-paid models in the world. Not surprisingly, L'Oréal Paris is now working with her: Kendall Jenner is the new ambassador for the successful beauty brand. Beginning in September 2023, Jenner will be the leading face of the company's makeup campaigns.

A new challenge, but she feels up to it. Because today she is so much more self-confident than before, which she also owes to "all the strong women in my life". Today, she considers being responsible for her own image a "blessing": "I've had so much fun, especially in the last two years since I launched my own brand," Jenner said in retrospect. As a woman, she grows more and more. "I have confidence enough to know my worth." But she also works hard to get "what I deserve".
