Ke Huy Quan and Harrison Ford: "Indiana Jones" cheers on the Oscar stage

Warm hug from the "Indiana Jones" stars: Harrison Ford (80) and Ke Huy Quan (51) celebrated a revival in the middle of the Oscar stage. In 1984, the two starred together in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Now Ford presented Quan's team with the Best Picture Oscar for "Everything Everywhere All at Once".

In the midst of the hustle and bustle on the podium, Ke Huy Quan ran towards the older colleague. The two men hugged each other tightly, the mostly grumpy Harrison Ford laughed more happily than he seldom did in public.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was Ke Huy Quan's first feature film in 1984. The son of a Vietnamese family who fled to the United States in the 1970s, he subsequently became a popular child star. In 1985 he starred in "The Goonies", another cult film of the 80s.

With adulthood, roles remained for Ke Huy Quan. He retired behind the camera, worked as an assistant director and stunt coordinator. Emboldened by the success of "Crazy Rich," the first US romantic comedy with an all-Asian lead, he pushed back in front of the camera.

Ke Huy Quan made a spectacular comeback in 2022 with his role in the action comedy Everything Everywhere All at Once. The Oscar for best supporting actor was almost logical. Hollywood loves stories like this. When his film also won the Academy Award for Best Picture, Quan came full circle with the hug with presenter Harrison Ford.

The two actors with such different career paths met a year ago for the "Indiana Jones" class reunion. Quan posted pictures of the reunion on Instagram.

Harrison Ford and Ke Huy Quan bumped into each other at Disney's D23 Expo event. For the photos, they recreated the famous hugging scene from the second Indiana Jones film.
