Jungle camp second "Gigi" Birofio: "I don't want to see any more plants"

Luigi "Gigi" Birofio (23) fought in the finale of the reality TV show "I'm a star – get me out of here!" (at RTL and RTL ) Sunday night second place. In the interview afterwards, the relieved reality TV star answered the journalists' questions. Not having made it all the way to the top, "Gigi" says: "If I said that I'm not disappointed, I'd be lying. But I'm also super happy. And so proud of my people out there who aren't stopped calling. I love you guys."

And he also made no secret of his antipathy to all the green in the video call. After moving out, what he was most looking forward to was "not seeing all those plants anymore. I think I'll just buy one plastic plant at home because I don't want anything to do with the jungle anymore."

He didn't imagine the jungle camp that way, he admits. "I'm actually used to dating shows: alcohol, women, partying, villa, nice food. I thought I'd go in there, do my 'Gigi' show, entertainment, and get out again. But..." And he becomes even clearer: "Would I do it again? Definitely not." However, he does not regret anything he said or did in the camp.

He will "under no circumstances miss" the jungle, and yet his conclusion after 17 days is positive. "I'm very, very, very grateful. I understood a lot of things in life, what I want, what I need. I understood: 'Stop bitching about it. You have everything. You're actually rich in yourself because you have a roof overhead. You have people who love you. You have a full fridge. Your parents are healthy.' Actually, I have everything I need. And I never have to complain again," he summarizes.

Who does he want to keep in touch with after the jungle? The answer to that is clear: "In any case, I will continue to be in contact with Cecilia, she has become my best friend, and with Papis and Jolina." He got along really well with the influencer at the camp. Many viewers even thought there was more to it. But how was it really? "Well I'll be honest, I really thought a friendship between a man and a woman, when the attractiveness is there, can't work. But there are friendships between a man and a woman. To me, Cecilia is like a brother, like a mate of mine and I'm very grateful for that," he says.

And Gigi reports on another "strange" experience at the camp. "It wasn't bad, but it was kind of weird that I was talking about my family for the first time in my life." An example: "father problems". "I never would have thought that. I would never talk about it in real life either." His father then admitted in the RTL interview that he had made mistakes. He has apologized for not giving his son enough love. He hasn't spoken to him about it yet, says "Gigi". "I don't have a cell phone yet. But my father doesn't need to apologize. I know he loves me," he adds.

"Gigi" actually wanted to open a bar with the prize money. That still remains his "Mission Number One - but slowly, slowly, maybe I'll make it someday," says the German-Italian about his plans for the future.
