Jungle camp 2023: "Disgusting statement": Djamila Rowe is horrified by Lucas Cordalis' statement

The viewers have decided: With an overwhelming majority, they chose Djamila Rowe as the jungle queen of 2023. In her first interview after the coronation, the East Berliner was overwhelmed: "I'm feeling fantastic!" Rowe told a group of journalists. "I slowly arrived and realized that I am now the queen of the jungle." That was difficult for her in the first few hours. "I couldn't believe it. I was completely overwhelmed with this situation at the beginning."

With her victory she has a clear expectation: "I hope that at my age I can take place again in one or the other format," said the 55-year-old. "I've shown that even in old age you can still tear something." The prize money of 100,000 euros wants to be used wisely. "It's not going to be screwed up right away," said Rowe. Among other things, it was intended for her daughter's education. After all, her two children can each fulfill a personal wish. She also wants to fly to New York with the two of them.

The joy of victory was visibly clouded when Djamila Rowe heard about the nasty spell that Lucas Cordalis said about her in the jungle camp. Cordalis had stated that he wanted to become Jungle King because of his father. A motivation that Djamila could not quite understand. Cordalis then said on the jungle phone: "Maybe she just doesn't understand my motivation. She grew up in the home anyway!"

Confronted with this, Rowe was stunned on Monday morning. "Disgusting statement," was her first reaction. "I think he shot himself with that, didn't he? What kind of statement is that?" Now she also understands some of the reactions from the audience better, said the jungle queen. Her competitor's sentences visibly shocked her: "Did he say that?" she asks in disbelief.

Despite these discords, the 55-year-old drew a positive conclusion from her time in the jungle camp: "I take a lot of emotional strength and power with me," she said in the question and answer session. "And I'm happy to pass that on to all the people who have a dream and don't dare to realize this dream. I fought for this dream for ten years and I made it."
