Actress Ingrid Steeger (76) is said to be in very poor health. As “Bild” reported, she was admitted to the clinic in Bad Hersfeld, Hesse. The former Klimbim star told the newspaper that she had an intestinal obstruction.
Ingrid Steeger has been living in a nursing home in Bad Hersfeld for some time. "I came to the clinic yesterday morning because I had severe abdominal pain. I'm not having an operation, it's being done with tablets. I'll stay in the clinic until Friday," she described her current condition in an interview on Wednesday. "I have an intestinal obstruction, I'm not feeling well. I hope for the best." But mentally she is doing “quite well”.
But acquaintances and fans have been worried for a long time about the actress, who has lost a lot of weight and is dependent on a wheelchair. In autumn 2022, Steeger announced that she had to go to a nursing home after a fall in her own four walls. In January 2020, the TV icon made her poor health public in a conversation with the “Bild” newspaper. On New Year's Day 2020 she suffered a cardiac arrest while taking a walk. Her companion resuscitated her and a short time later a defibrillator system was inserted into her in a hospital.
The Berlin native became known nationwide alongside TV stars such as Elisabeth Volkmann (1936-2006) and Peer Augustinski (1940-2014) in the 70s slapstick series "Klimbim". She was last seen in the Peter Thorwarth film "Golden Times" in 2006 alongside Wotan Wilke Möhring (56) and "The A-Team" star Dirk Benedict (78). In 2019 she was on stage at the Bad Hersfeld Festival.
