"I'm a Celebrity...South Africa": British jungle camp broadcasts all-star edition

In Great Britain there will be a very special jungle camp edition next month: The British counterpart to the RTL show "I'm a star – get me out of here!" broadcasts an all-star version, which is cast with former participants. The celebrities will gather in South Africa for this. According to a statement from the responsible TV broadcaster ITV, from which the British media quote, the stars of "I'm a Celebrity...South Africa" will have to face even "bigger and tougher" challenges than before.

The location in South Africa is also "rougher and more unforgiving" compared to the usual Australian outback. The first stars have now been confirmed. Among others, former world boxing champion Amir Khan (36), dancer Jordan Banjo (30), actress Helen Flanagan (32), presenter Carol Vorderman (62), track and field athlete Fatima Whitbread (62), cricket Player Phil Tuffnell (56), model Janice Dickinson (68) and musician Shaun Ryder (60) once again honored. The renewed participation of the former butler of Princess Diana (1961-1997), Paul Burrell (64), should make for a particularly large number of headlines.

The broadcaster announced that more prominent participants will be announced shortly. There is no exact broadcast date for the format yet, but it is expected to be broadcast in April. The British jungle camp variant "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" has been in production since 2002. In the 22nd season, which was shown in November 2022, former British footballer Jill Scott (36) won and is currently the reigning king of the jungle in Great Britain.

Unlike the British, a jungle camp in South Africa would not be new territory for German viewers. During the corona pandemic, RTL switched there last year. Filip Pavlović (28) was able to ascend the throne in South Africa. There he prevailed against Harald Glööckler (57), Tina Ruland (56) and Jasmin Herren (44), among others. It is not known whether RTL is also planning an all-star edition of the jungle camp. The broadcaster has so far left a corresponding request unanswered.
