Hit series: Newcomers play William and Kate in 'The Crown' season

Actors have been found for the roles of Prince William and Duchess Kate for the planned sixth season of the hit series "The Crown".

Two actors, Rufus Kampa (16) and Ed McVey (21), will portray William as a teenager and as a young man, as "Variety" and "Deadline.com" reported. Newcomer Meg Bellamy is set to play Kate Middleton. Bellamy wrote on Instagram that she was "so thrilled" and will try to do justice to Kate. McVey was delighted to play Prince William on Instagram.

Nothing has been officially announced about the content of the sixth season, which is to be filmed from autumn. "Variety" suspects that she shed light on the British royal family from the late 1990s. William met Kate in 2001 at the renowned University of St. Andrews in Scotland. They married in April 2011.

The fifth season of the Netflix production is scheduled to premiere in November. Imelda Staunton takes on the role of Queen Elizabeth. Claire Foy and Olivia Colman previously played the monarch. The series about the British monarchy, which has been running since 2016, has already won numerous awards, including several Emmys and Golden Globes.
