Since 2011, musician Blake Shelton (46) has been a coach on the US music show "The Voice". In an Instagram post, he now announced that season 23 will be his last. "I wrestled with myself for a while and decided it was time for me to retire after season 23 of The Voice," he wrote in his statement. "This show has changed my life for the better in every way and will always feel like home to me. It's been an amazing ride these 12 years."

Shelton also thanked The Voice team, contestants and viewers, stating, "I have formed lifelong bonds with Carson and every single one of my fellow coaches over the years, including my wife Gwen Stefani!"

Stefani and Blake Shelton met as coaches on The Voice in 2015. The country music star then proposed to the singer in October 2020. The two stars celebrated their wedding on July 3, 2021 with about 40 of their closest friends and family members, including "The Voice" co-star and presenter Carson Daly, 49.

Gwen Stefani (53), who is currently on the 22nd season of "The Voice" with her husband, commented on Shelton's statement on Instagram and wrote: "I'm so proud of you and so blessed to have found you have. Your talent brings joy to the hearts of so many people and I am so lucky to be a part of your journey."

The next season "The Voice" is scheduled for release in spring 2023. According to NBC, Kelly Clarkson (40), Chance the Rapper (29) and Niall Horan (29) are also coaches alongside Shelton.
