In April, the eagerly awaited Boris Becker documentary "Boom! Boom! The World vs. Boris Becker" will start on the Apple TV streaming service. Popular series such as "Grey's Anatomy", "Always there for you" or "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" are returning to the screens with new seasons. The series month of April begins with the entertaining, black humorous comedy series "Beef" on the Netflix streaming service. Oscar-nominated former "The Walking Dead" star Steven Yeun (39) and Ali Wong ("Birds of Prey", 40) play two people in "Beef" who clash over a traffic violation. Instead of forgetting the incident, unsuccessful, complex craftsman Danny Cho (Yeun) and successful self-made entrepreneur Amy Lau (Wong) spiral into a veritable frenzy. As a result, they do everything they can to destroy each other's lives.

The humorous German science fiction series "Tender Hearts" will start on Sky and its streaming service Wow on April 6th. Games programmer Mila (Friederike Kempter, 43) orders a so-called Lovedroid after a few unsuccessful dates. The humanoid robot Friendly Bo (Madieu Ulbrich) is not only intelligent and sensitive, but can also fulfill any other wishes. Mila's environment around sister Anja (Heike Makatsch, 51) reacts in amazement, but can an android really make you happy?

On April 7th, the eagerly awaited two-part documentary series "Boom! Boom! The World vs. Boris Becker" will start on the Apple TV streaming service. The focus is on the career and private life of German tennis legend Boris Becker (55). Judging by a first trailer, Becker speaks in front of the camera, among other things, about the pressure to succeed after his sensational Wimbledon victory at the age of only 17. Becker's first wife Barbara Becker (56) also has her say in the trailer.

In addition, Oscar winner and director Alex Gibney (69) interviewed Becker in the week before his conviction for delaying bankruptcy in England.

Also on April 7, Netflix will launch the historical miniseries "Transatlantic," set in 1940 France. The show by "Unorthodox" series creator Anna Winger (53) tells the true story of the American journalist Varian Fry (1907-1967), who during the Second World War numerous prominent artists and authors such as Hannah Arendt, Max Ernst, Marcel Duchamp or helped Marc Chagall escape from Nazi-occupied Europe.

Cory Michael Smith ("Call Jane", 36) stars in the seven-part production. "Community" star Gillian Jacobs (40) plays the wealthy heiress Mary Jayne Gold, while Corey Stoll ("House of Cards", 47) embodies the US consul in Marseille with Graham Patterson. The German actors Moritz Bleibtreu, Alexander Fehling and Jonas Nay complete the international cast of the Netflix production.

After the English original version of the fourth and last "Succession" season is already available on Sky and its streaming service Wow, the dubbed version of the show, which has been awarded 13 Emmys so far, will also start on April 11th. In the new episodes from season four, the sale of the media group Waystar RoyCo to the tech visionary Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård, 46) is getting closer - and fueling existential fears and divisions in the Roy family.

The fifth and unfortunately also final season of the successful show "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel", which was awarded a total of 20 Emmys, is coming up. In the final episodes, the title character, played by Rachel Brosnahan, 32, finds herself closer than ever to her desired success after a number of professional setbacks, only to find that she still has a fair amount of work to do. A long trailer sets the mood for the return of the amusing comedy series.

Fans of the extremely long-lived hospital series "Grey's Anatomy" need to be strong now. Because with the new, 19th season, which celebrates its free TV premiere on ProSieben on April 24th, the last chapter with series star Ellen Pompeo (53) as the main actress is coming up. In only eight episodes from Season 19 does Pompeo appear as Meredith Grey. But the 53-year-old should also appear as a guest star in the already confirmed 20th "Grey's Anatomy" season from time to time.

The new episodes on Joyn and the Disney streaming service start a week before they are broadcast on ProSieben.

Also from April 24, new episodes from the sixth season of the "Grey's Anatomy" offshoot "Seattle Firefighters" will appear on ProSieben. At the start there is a crossover event from 8:15 p.m., since "Grey's Anatomy" and "Seattle Firefighters" are linked in their respective season premieres: A violent tornado leaves a trail of devastation through Seattle. The men and women from Seattle Fire Station 19 rush to the rescue, taking the injured to Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital.

New "Seattle Firefighters" episodes are also released one week before the TV broadcast on Joyn and on the Disney streaming service.

Friends of classic crime entertainment will get their money's worth with the comedic crime series "Poker Face". "Matrjoschka" leading actress Natasha Lyonne (43) plays hobby detective Charlie Cale, who immediately recognizes when her counterpart is lying. On the run from her former boss, Charlie travels through the USA and solves entertaining criminal cases on her road trip.

Behind "Poker Face" is series creator and director Rian Johnson (49), who recently brought "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" to Netflix, and here again proves his talent for crime fiction. An illustrious series of guest actors completes the acting ensemble. Among others, Adrien Brody, Nick Nolte, Ron Perlman and Chloë Sevigny are part of the party. A second season has already been ordered by the US streaming service Peacock.

From April 27, viewers can experience the final chapter of the two best friends Tully (Katherine Heigl, 44) and Kate (Sarah Chalke, 46) on Netflix. The seven concluding episodes of the second part of season two again show the highly emotional adventures of the two main characters in different decades, with Kate struggling with her severe breast cancer and longing for a reconciliation with Tully. A longer trailer, which has so far only been published in English, sets the mood for the upcoming farewell to the series.

Amazon Prime Video has a real action highlight at the end of the month. Behind the star-studded agent series "Citadel" are executive producers and directors "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame" makers Joe (51) and Anthony Russo (53). It tells the story of two secret agents with amnesia. Mason Kane ("Game of Thrones" star Richard Madden, 36) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra, 40) try to fight a syndicate called Manticore for the eponymous spy agency.

With a budget of over 200 million US dollars, "Citadel" is one of the most expensive series of all time. Season two is already confirmed. A detailed trailer for the series offers a foretaste of the large-scale production.
