GfK Entertainment: Bruce Springsteen is the boss of the German charts

The American rock star Bruce Springsteen (73) has conquered the top of the German charts with the album "Only The Strong Survive". "The Boss" is celebrating "the tenth number one record of his career," said GfK Entertainment, investigator of the Official German Charts, in Baden-Baden on Friday. "The reinterpretation of old soul classics also marks his 41st chart album and 641st place in the top 100".

The number one of the previous week ("Plan A" by Johannes Oerding) meanwhile falls to fifth place. Taylor Swift ("Midnights") goes from five to four. Like the other former One Direction members, Louis Tomlinson has also been active as a solo singer for some time. His "Faith In The Future" is now in second place, Michael Patrick Kelly ("B.O.A.T.S") takes third place when he returns.

There is continuity at the top of the single charts: Peter Fox and Inéz are still in first place with "Zukunft Pink". Unchanged from the previous week, Sam Smith and Kim Petras remain in second place with "Unholy" and Nina Chuba ("Wildberry Lillet") in third place.

In 2022, the two most successful Christmas pop songs have entered the charts earlier and even higher than last year. "Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" returns at 44, Wham's "Last Christmas" at 49".
