As early as February, the creators of the new "Joker" sequel "Folie à Deux" gave fans a first glimpse of Lady Gaga (36) and Joaquin Phoenix (48) in their roles as Harley Quinn and Arthur Fleck. Now the new photos from the film set in New York City have appeared, showing Lady Gaga for the first time in the unmistakable Harley Quinn costume – and looking forward to part two.

Matching the iconic Joker look, the singer wears a black and white checked corset, a bright red jacket, a black leather skirt, checked tights and high heels. Her platinum blonde hair was draped back in a sleek hair style. Another highlight: Lady Gaga's make-up of almost white foundation, smokey eyes and red lipstick.

Meanwhile, Harley Quinn is surrounded by a crowd of extras and cops as she descends the steps of City Hall in Manhattan. One looks in vain for fellow actor Joaquin Phoenix in the photos.

Filming is said to have been in full swing since December 2022. "Joker: Folie à Deux" by director Todd Philipps (52) is scheduled to hit US cinemas on October 4, 2024. In addition to Lady Gaga and Phoenix, the sequel also stars Zazie Beetz (31), Brendan Gleeson (67), Catherine Keener (64) and Jacob Lofland (26).

So far, the makers have hardly leaked any details about the history of the sequel. According to media reports, the sequel is to be a musical - and could play in the so-called Arkham Asylum, Gotham City's mental institution. That's where the main character Arthur Fleck ended up at the end of the first part. The movie "Joker" was a box office hit in 2019 and grossed over one billion US dollars worldwide. Phoenix won an Oscar for his portrayal of the DC villain.
