First attempt with surrogate mother: Rebel Wilson opens up about miscarriage for the first time

Actress Rebel Wilson (42) became a mother for the first time a few months ago. Daughter Royce was born to a surrogate mother. But that wasn't the first attempt, as the actress revealed during a radio show. Wilson had tried a surrogate before and lost a baby.

"I tried to have the baby with a surrogate and unfortunately the embryo miscarried," she said on the new episode of The Pick Up with Britt, Laura, and Mitch. "You're so happy when it works," she recalled in an interview with the moderators. But then she lost the baby. "It was really sad." After the loss, Wilson tried again.

The Australian actress went public with her relationship with Ramona Agruma in June 2022. By the time the couple got together, however, Wilson was expecting their second baby via surrogate. "I've only been with Ramona for two months and I had to say, 'By the way, the surrogate looks like she's past her first trimester and it's serious and I'm going to have a baby by the end of the year.'"

Finally, last November, she was able to hold her little daughter in her arms. She made the birth public via Instagram at the time. "I am proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, who was born via surrogacy last week. I cannot begin to describe the love I have for her, she is a beautiful miracle," she wrote Photo of the little ones.
