Film festival: Hof honors documentary filmmaker Stefan Paul

This year's Hof Film Prize goes to the documentary filmmaker and film manager Stefan Paul. As the city of Hof announced, Paul had been closely associated with the Hof Film Festival for decades since 1969. Various films were part of the Filmtage program, such as “Hotel Deutschland” in 1991 or “Hotel Deutschland 2” in 2011. Paul is, among other things, head of Arsenal Filmverleih GmbH based in Tübingen.

With its film award, the city of Hof honors personalities from the film industry who have a connection to the festival every year as part of the Film Days. Previous award winners include Julia von Heinz, Jessica Schwarz, Caroline Link, Tom Tykwer, and Dominik Graf. The undoped award was given for the first time in 1986 - back then to Doris Dörrie.

The Hof Film Festival is one of the most important film festivals in Germany; more than 150 films from home and abroad can be seen this year until Sunday (October 29th).
