About a year after the romantic proposal in Paris, everything seems to be over for the musician couple Avril Lavigne, 38, and Mod Sun, 35. At least that's what several US media are reporting - "Page Six" wants the news of the broken engagement to have been confirmed by the spokesman for the "SK8er Boi" singer. But the situation is apparently not quite as clear as the report goes on to say.
Because the page also quotes the US rapper's manager – with contradictory words: "Three days ago, when he left for the tour, they were still together and engaged." If anything had changed, that would be news to him. In any case, despite these supposed inconsistencies, he would not let himself be deterred from said tour, as his spokesman further asserts.
The Canadian singer only announced in April 2022 with a photo as evidence via Instagram that Mod Sun had proposed to her hand in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris on March 27 and after a year of dating. In French, Lavigne wrote of how she answered the question all questions: "Oui! Je t'aime pour toujours" - "Yes, I love you forever." In further recordings, the singer then proudly shows the engagement ring into the camera that Mod Sun put on her finger.
If, contrary to the latest reports, the wedding bells still ring for the two, it would be Lavigne's third marriage. So far they have always led (punk) rockers down the aisle. She was married to Sum 41's Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2010. After that, she surprisingly got married to Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger. The two were married from 2013 to 2015.
Mod Sun's ex-girlfriends include Bella Thorne. However, an alleged marriage between the two is said not to have been officially completed.
