The royal family seems to be ammunition, since it is not yet known what internal information Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will reveal from the palace in their planned document and book releases. Royal expert Angela Levin claims that a bill that would allow the king to revoke titles has long been in the works in Great Britain.

Levin recounts that York Central Labor MP Rachael Maskell has tabled a "removal of titles" bill in Parliament. This should enable a parliamentary committee or the king himself to revoke royal titles such as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to the British news portal "The Mirror".

Duke and Duchess of Sussex are titles bestowed on Prince Harry and Meghan by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2018 on the occasion of their wedding. Normally titles are held until death unless one commits treason against the British Crown. But so far, King Charles III. only determine this in consultation with Parliament. That should change now.

The bill is scheduled to undergo a second review on December 9th. After that, it could move on to the final phase if approved in the House of Commons. However, author Angela Levin also admits that stripping titles from members of the royal family was for King Charles III. would be quite "explosive".

Speaking to TalkTV, Levin speculates: "King Charles won't let them. I think Harry and Meghan are working on a huge explosion after which he can remove their titles. There is a Labor MP in York who has a bill in Parliament for private members of the royal family that Prince Andrew should no longer bear the title Duke of York. If this bill is heard and passed, the King will also have the option to remove Harry's and Meghan's titles if he so wishes."

In a few weeks, the world will know what Prince Harry and Meghan have to share. Her Netflix documentary is set to be released on December 8th, with the long-discussed Prince's memoir a month later on January 10th.
