The decision has been made: A restrained episode of the ZDF "Traumschiff" with comedian Luke Mockridge (33) in a guest role will be shown later this year. A spokeswoman for the station confirmed this to the news portal "t-online". "We will broadcast the 'Traumschiff' episode 'Coco Island', which was produced in early 2021, on December 26, 2022. Luke Mockridge has a guest appearance in this episode," the ZDF representative is quoted as saying in the corresponding report.
ZDF had initially withdrawn the episode planned for Christmas 2021. The reason for this decision: the fuss surrounding Luke Mockridge. Because the 33-year-old was criticized shortly before the broadcast because of allegations by his ex-girlfriend, "Das Traumschiff" did not sail to the Maldives but to Sweden. "Due to the public discussions about Luke Mockridge in autumn 2021, ZDF has postponed the episode 'Das Traumschiff – Maldiven' to a later date in coordination and in the interests of everyone involved," ZDF explained at the time.
After a lengthy creative hiatus, the entertainer is gradually venturing back into the spotlight. He toured Germany again in 2022 with his stage program "A Way Back to Luckyland" and will return to his former regular station Sat.1 in January 2023. He will be there in the comedy show "The best comedians in Germany".
In the spring of 2023, Mockridge will start his new tour "Trippy" through Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
