“Dahoam is Dahoam”: Over 300 new episodes for the cult series

The Bavarian TV landscape retains one of its most popular cult series: “Dahoam is Dahoam” continues. The responsible committee of the BR Broadcasting Council decided this on Thursday. This gives the green light for a total of 340 new episodes of the early evening series, which has been on the air for 16 years. The broadcaster announced this in a press release.

According to BR, around 3,250 episodes about the villagers of the fictional community of Lansing have been broadcast since it started in October 2007. "Dahoam is Dahoam" is one of the three most important programs in the program - more than 90 percent of Bavaria's residents have apparently already watched at least one episode.

“Dahoam is Dahoam” is not only a complete success in the linear program, with an average of 443,000 viewers in Bavaria (more than 660,000 people nationwide) in the third quarter of 2023. The series was viewed over 25 million times in the ARD media library between January and September.

Anyone who would like to see all the stories from Lansing again will soon have the opportunity to do so. From November 1st, BR television will show all episodes from the first episode again. The station then broadcasts double episodes on weekdays from 9:10 a.m. The old episodes should also be available in the media library.

The series is set in the fictional Bavarian town of Lansing and is about the family and everyday stories of the villagers. “Dahoam is Dahoam” runs regularly on BR television from Monday to Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
