Singer and actress Courtney Love (58) reports losing a leading role in the cult film "Fight Club" (1999) because of superstar Brad Pitt. The widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain (1967-1994) was recently a guest on the "WTF Podcast" with Marc Maron (59). On this occasion, Love stated that she had allegedly already been given the role of Marla Singer in director David Fincher (60) in his iconic mindfuck classic in the late 1990s - only to be fired again after Pitt's intervention. Oscar winner Helena Bonham Carter (56) ultimately played the character Marla Singer in "Fight Club".

As a background, Love explains that Pitt approached her at the time with the suggestion that she embody her late husband Kurt Cobain in a film project by director Gus Van Sant (70). But Love rejected this. "I didn't let Brad play Kurt," Love said. "I got very angry. I don't play fist. Who the hell do you think you are?" She recalls her thoughts and thoughts at the time. She also did not have the impression that the later Oscar winner Pitt would really understand the Nirvana frontman.

As a result of her negative attitude, Love then lost her role in "Fight Club", which she believed to be safe. Her then partner Edward Norton (53), who plays the second male lead in Fincher's film alongside Pitt, is said to have brought her the bad news crying. A few years later, director Van Sant made "Last Days" (2005), an experimental biopic about Kurt Cobain, although his name is never mentioned. Here Michael Pitt (41) took over the leading role.
